Real Madrid’s team bus was involved in a motorway accident following their loss to Liverpool in the Champions League.

The Real Madrid team bus was reportedly involved in a crash on the motorway after their defeat to Liverpool. On Thursday, footage surfaced showing a coach branded with the Madrid logo that had collided with the back of a lorry on the M40 motorway. Prior to the Champions League match on Wednesday night, the Madrid players and staff had been seen arriving at the stadium in the same coach.

It’s unclear at this time whether any players or staff were aboard the coach at the time of the incident or if there were any injuries. Typically, teams fly back to their home countries after matches, but the coach would still need to be driven back, which may explain the situation.

The coach featured Madrid’s club badge and a list of their major titles, including 13 Supercopas de España and 20 Copa del Rey victories. Following the loss to Liverpool, manager Carlo Ancelotti reflected, saying, “To be totally honest, it’s a fair result. Liverpool deserved to win. They’re in great form and played with high intensity. We did okay in the first half, defended well, and managed transitions decently. But we lost the ball and made wrong decisions going forward. We fought until the penalty, and if we’d equalized, we had been competitive up to that point. But we must keep pushing forward.”
